The environment is a "complex" (of) dynamic, interrelated physical, geographic, biological, social, cultural and political conditions that an individual or organism is immersed in, and that ultimately determines its own form and nature of its survival.
Ecology, the study of how organisms interact with each other and their environment, is from the Greek oikos for "household" and logos for "knowledge". The biologist and artist-illustrator Ernst Haeckel coined the word ecology.
Planet Earth is the only known environment for humanity and our activity is finally being widely recognized as contributing to the fragile equalibrium of conditions that can sustain Life as humanity has become accustomed to.

In 1986 ten areas of concern were selected as focus points for The Future Is Now World Peace Celebration - a ‘complex’ of dynamic interrelated human activities that cannot be separated out from one another.
If your primary concern is environment then you will also be involved in educating yourself and others in what the issues are around the environment and your best way to educate might be to communicate through art. The equitible sharing of resources brings in justice; science methodology is useful in observing what is happening around us; forming a healthy community is imperative for solving problems; and without a spiritual metanoia all the above is still working on the problems with the same consciousness that created the problems.
To the millions who have been checking their carbon footprint for years, more out of intuition and respect for creation than hard facts and economic prompts- “Thank You”. To the hundreds (thousands) that pass by this building daily in a ridiculous attempt to beat the lights between Main and Broadway, here is the bus schedule for KCMO. Or, oh duh... everyone who fled the inner city to build big crackerboxes on farmland are now moving back to city centers, forcing out the very people they fled from 40 years ago.
