HARVEY P., the second child of Harvey Black and Olive Powers was born 6 December 1818 in New York and died 9 March 1900, age 81. He married Marilla Crommer (b. 3 Jan 1822 in New York State of John Crommer and Roby Hoard; d. 15 Dec 1891, age 69). I have read that they had eleven children, I only have ten listed here unless David with his nickname Joe was confused as an extra child.

Not just the descendents of Harvey P and Marilla are interested in Marilla’s parents- it turns out Marilla is a sister to my gggrandfather Miner Crommer on my mother’s maternal side. See more of the connection on the Crommer pages.
George Black is listed in the 1870 Michigan Census as a 16 year old farm laborer living with David Crommer (his mother’s brother). His death certificate lists cause of death as inflamation of stomach.
